A world without trees is unimaginable, but thankfully preventable. Your support today can restore forests, revive ecosystems, and help nature heal for the sake of both people and the planet.

Protecting Kenya’s Natural Heritage

Kenya’s forests, rivers, wetlands, wildlife habitats, and other ecosystems are critical to the country’s future.

We work with communities, schools, institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to restore degraded ecosystems, increase tree cover, promote environmental awareness, and encourage sustainable practices.

Honouring Those Who Sacrificed for Freedom

The sacrifices made during Kenya’s struggle for independence must never be forgotten. The Foundation works to preserve the history and dignity of Mau Mau veterans while supporting initiatives that address their welfare and that of their families and communities. Our work includes heritage preservation, veteran welfare, education, community empowerment, documentation of personal histories, and commemorative programmes.

A Legacy That Lives On

The story of Kenya’s struggle for freedom is a story of courage, sacrifice, resilience, and determination. Dedan Kimathi Foundation carries this legacy forward by transforming the values associated with the freedom struggle into practical programmes that serve communities and future generations.

Our work brings together environmental conservation and historical preservation, recognising that protecting our natural heritage and honouring those who fought for Kenya’s freedom are both essential to building a better future. Through partnerships, community participation, advocacy, education, and sustainable programmes, we work to create lasting change.
