In this recent past, Naivasha District Hospital experienced an incident that made an incredible mark that will never leave the minds in the living memory for many generations to come. A Medium lady chocolate-colored and healthy-looking was raped by an unknown person and she recently gave birth to a charming bouncing baby boy.

Philomena’s Background

Philomena hails from Naivasha town and is mentally unwell. She doesn’t recognize if she gave birth. According to her close associates, she has been brought up by her father since her mother fled after realizing that Philomena was mentally unstable leaving her and her four siblings under the care of the father.

Negligence

Our society needs to learn to be careful and mindful of other people’s welfares. After Naivasha District Hospital Management discovered that Philomena was mentally unstable and that she doesn’t speak nor does she have any noticeable sign of her surroundings.

Sadly so to say, Philomena cannot breastfeed her baby due to her state of mind. She is quite a rough person and doesn’t seem to love anything close to her. To this effect, A catholic sister tried to get them a home. She tried to reach many homes and personalities but all was in vain since nobody wanted to admit them. Naivasha District Hospital had tried the same but many Homes declined the request. On Tuesday she called Dedan Kimathi Children’s Home in bid to find a new home for Philomena and her newborn baby boy and we received them passionately. It was a tough decision and a new dawn for the two. You could see the innocence in the kids faces at the children’s home as they welcomed them to our family and they are doing well here.

Humanitarian Act

Looking at Philomena one would feel compassionate due to her situation. As stated earlier, Philomena isn’t aware of her environmental vicinity. At DKF’s Children’s Home, they are being catered for and the well-wishers are being urged to come with what one can easily afford clothes, foodstuffs and other human-related essentials are profoundly required.
