We wish to dedicate our daily humanitarian duties to all with like minds and with that golden hearts, to come forward and join hands with us in order to make our world quite habitable. To leave this world a better place than you found it. It’s our greatest aspiration that any sane person should embrace in this post colonial Kenya and the entire world.

In this new year Dawn, Dedan Kimathi Foundation have experienced quite shocking incident in Tharaka Nithi, Kenya. During one of our extended tours around the country, DKF through an area chief, identified  a very needy helpless elderly woman, whose life actually knocked out our human conscience. The woman had no food to eat, her shanty that acts as her home, is mere shadow of a collapsing house, mud-walled and holes all over the mud shanty getting off leaving huge gaping holes. We were moved to tears when we looked at the situation the elderly mama lives in.

She needs a decent shelter, warm comfortable and accommodatable. We gave her foodstuffs, clothes and right now we are appealing to well wishers to give us required support so that we can settle her down in a better home. Additionally, give relevant support to her grandson whose merciful and tender care have made this lady at least get glimpse of renewed hope in this darkened life she is experiencing. The grandson feeds this lady but on rare occasions. Many are the days she goes without food.

We are quite grateful to you all, May our Lord bless you abundantly. We highly appreciate your generosity. Please, please never forget us. Remember to come again. They are many elderly here like my grandmother. Many die out of hunger in this place,” said her grandson as he thanked our cause in our mission.

To this major effect, Dedan Kimathi is grateful to all our partners and key players. We therefore appeal and equally urge you to continue giving us massive and enormous financial and any other required support so that we can feed, clothe and resettle all the elderly and the needy in our entire society.

Thanks and may our Lord Christ be with you all. God bless you abundantly. Amen.
